Chelsea had to settle for a point in their Sunday’s visit to the Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest who scored late on to ensure a 1-1 stalemate at the City Ground.

The Blues goalie Kepa was forced into a couple of early saves with Morgan Gibbs-White and Brennan Johnson testing the Spanish keeper who did well to deny them both.

Kai Havertz and Mason Mount came close on the other end of the pitch only for the duo to be stopped in their tracks by the Brentford backline.

The visitors soon had their opening goal to cherish with Havertz key to the build-up to the goal as Raheem Sterling executed a quality finish past Dean Henderson for his first top-flight goal since the end of August.

Forest returned after the interval with renewed vigor and the home side looked to cause trouble for Chelsea as Taiwo Awoniyi forced an important stop from Kepa.

Gibbs-White smashed a shot toward Kepa’s goal and the thunderous strike crashed down off the underside of the crossbar with Chelsea handed a warning from a fired up Forest.

Steve Cooper’s men leveled the affair rather deservedly with wing-back Aurier making no mistake from six yards out to find the back of the net and salvage a point for his side.
