Chelsea are looking to battle a host of their Premier League rivals for signing Villarreal youngster Alex Baena following his breakthrough in Spain’s top flight.
The 21-year-old Spanish winger has courted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool in the past and it looks like Chelsea will be joining their domestic rivals in the chase for the Villarreal starlet.
According to a report from Fichajes, it is claimed that the Stamford Bridge camp are keen on moving in for the playmaker ahead of the January transfer window in which Chelsea are expected to spend the cash to bolster their squad.
The recently appointed head coach Graham Potter has been urged to add to his front line options after his side’s disappointing run of form before heading into the World Cup break and Potter has his search on for viable names in the market.
