According to the latest reports, Chelsea is keen on signing Olympique Lyon captain Nabil Fekir in the winter transfer window, who also wants a move away from the Ligue 1.
Chelsea is doing exceedingly well in the Premier League under new manager Maurizio Sarri at the moment as the Blues sit on 2nd place on the table. The Blues are still unbeaten in the new season but Sarri is aware that if Chelsea is to compete for silverware, he needs to re-enforce his squad in January itself.

Nabil Fekir looked certain to join Merseyside club Liverpool in the summer transfer window when Lyon agreed on a transfer fee of £53 million. But the Premier League outfit pulled the plug on the deal even after Fekir’s medical was completed. However, the French international still wants a move away from Lyon in January as he is unable to hit last season’s heights.
The 25-year-old Fekir is unable to replicate the goalscoring form he showed last season and wants to prove his worth with a club that can compete for trophies. The issue for Chelsea will be that even Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have been monitoring Fekir’s situation as they want to improve their squad and challenge for the Bundesliga this term as well.
