Real Madrid could play spoilsport to Chelsea’s plans of signing Moises Caicedo

Real Madrid could play spoilsport to Chelsea’s plans of signing Moises Caicedo with the European champions weighing up a move for the Brighton starlet.

With Real on the lookout for Luka Modric’s successor at the Santiago Bernebeu, Caicedo is said to have emerged on their radar following his impressive run of showings in the Premier League with Brighton, according to a report from Fichajes.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has identified the 21-year-old midfield talent as the viable replacement to fill Modric’s boots in the Real shirt which would come as a setback on the transfer front to Graham Potter’s Chelsea.

The newly appointed Blues head coach had been credited with an interest in moving in for his former Brighton star whose arrival at the Bridge could have provided Potter with much-needed fresh legs to bolster his midfield ranks.

Since Potter’s arrival, his options in the Chelsea midfield department have been a cause of worry with N’Golo Kante sidelined until after the World Cup with a hamstring injury while Jorginho’s future continues to attract much speculation.
