Chelsea given eyewatering £85 million price-tag for Moises Caicedo

Chelsea have reportedly been given an eyewatering £85 million price-tag for Moises Caicedo who was one of Graham Potter’s most influential players during his stint at Brighton.

Potter has since made the move to west London and brought about a reversal of fortunes at Stamford Bridge in a nine-game unbeaten streak which came to an end following his side’s defeat to Brighton over the weekend.

The new Chelsea head coach is said to be looking for reinforcements to freshen his injury-hit midfield roster which has lost N’Golo Kante to a hamstring issue until after the World Cup later this year.

With Potter keen to move in for the 20-year-old Caicedo, who is also wanted by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, Chelsea could be forced to fork out a fee in the region of £85 million to land the highly-rated youth talent, according to The Daily Mirror.

Uncertainty looming over Jorginho’s long-term future coupled with Kante’s long-term spell on the sidelines has meant that the Blues would be urged to dip into the market for a new signing when the transfer window reopens in January.
