Chelsea close to completing a deal for RB Leipzig director Christopher Vivell

Chelsea are said to be close to completing a deal for bringing in RB Leipzig director Christopher Vivell in a major appointment under the new owners led by Todd Boehly.

Boehly took over the reigns of the club earlier this year and the subsequent months saw a flurry of high-profile exits from the Chelsea camp with the long-serving sporting director Marina Granovskaia also calling it quits.

According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that the Stamford Bridge giants are closing in on the hiring of Vivell who was most recently associated with the Bundesliga giants Leipzig before his removal due to a ‘lack of trust’.

Vivell’s move to the Bridge could soon be followed by another departure from the Leipzig fold to sign for Chelsea in the shape of Christopher Nkunku with Chelsea already striking an agreement with the German top flight outfit.

The Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has assumed the sporting director responsibilities since Granovskaia left and the former was in full flow during the summer window as he gave the nod for a record spending spree on new signings.
