Manchester United looking to hijack Chelsea’s approach for Rafael Leao

Manchester United are reportedly looking to hijack Chelsea’s approach for Rafael Leao with the AC Milan emerging as a name on the radar at Old Trafford.

With United on the search for a viable replacement for talisman Cristiano Ronaldo who has looked out of sorts so far this season, the highly-rated Serie A talent Leao is said to be a top target for Eric ten Hag.

Chelsea’s long-standing interest in the Portugal international has been well-documented with the new head coach Graham Potter likely to dip into the market for a fresh face to bolster his front line in the forthcoming transfer windows.

Leao has just over 18 months left on his current terms at San Siro and with the race to land his signature heating up amongst Europe’s biggest clubs, United are hopeful to pip Chelsea to signing the attacker, according to The Daily Star.

Ten Hag is believed to be hard at work behind the scenes at United to make a swoop for the 23-year Leao and bring in the AC Milan forward to add to his options in the final third of the pitch.
