Billy Gilmour is reportedly shocked by Graham Potter’s move to Chelsea with the player making the switch to Seagulls this summer following positive talks with Potter.
The Chelsea youth academy graduate had signed for Brighton with Potter’s persuasion convincing him to leave the Stamford Bridge fold where his first-team opportunities had been limited of late.
Potter, however, has since signed for Gilmour’s old club Chelsea with the former being appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s successor to the top job at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea landing the 47-year-old on a long-term contract.
According to a report from The Sun, it is claimed that Gilmour will hold out to see who Brighton bring in as their new head coach with the Scotland international midfielder in limbo over his future at the Amex.
Brighton are understood to have a four-man shortlist in their search for Potter’s replacement with the name of Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper doing the rounds following his impressive run of results at the Premier League new boys.
