Frenkie de Jong was snapped jetting off to London amid the ongoing speculation that Chelsea were keen to move in for the Barcelona midfielder in the final days of the summer window.
De Jong has started just one of Barcelona’s three matches in the La Liga so far this new campaign and there are rumours doing the rounds that the Dutchman is set to call it quits at Camp Nou.
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea have been credited with a long-standing interest in the 25-year-old maestro who was earlier reluctant to leave Barcelona due to the sizable wages still owed to him by the cash-strapped Catalan giants.
According to a report from The Daily Express, it is claimed that the Chelsea and Manchester United target De Jong was spotted at the airport with his destination reportedly the English capital London.
Manchester United appear to be all but out of the chase for the Holland international midfielder despite the Premier League giants agreeing upon a £72 million deal to bring the player to Old Trafford three months back.
