Ajax hold talks with Chelsea over re-signing Hakim Ziyech

Ajax are reportedly in talks with Chelsea over re-signing Hakim Ziyech with the 29-year-old strongly linked with a return to the Dutch giants this summer.

With Chelsea on the lookout for a new signing or two to add to their attacking lineup before September 1’s deadline, the door at Stamford Bridge is wide open for Ziyech to leave.

According to a recent tweet by the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Ziyech has been contact with the Ajax director over a move back to Amsterdam with Chelsea deeming the playmaker surplus to requirements.

The Moroccan international made his first appearance of the new season after coming off the bench during Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Leeds United over the weekend in what could turn out to be his final outing in the Blues shirt.

Thomas Tuchel is understood to have given his nod to Ziyech’s departure with the former looking at Everton’s young attacker Anthony Gordon as the answer to Chelsea’s misfiring fortunes in front of the goal early on in the new campaign.
