Chelsea are understood to be confident of reaching a long-awaited agreement to bring Everton forward Anthony Gordon to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Gordon has emerged on Chelsea’s radar in the transfer window with the head coach Thomas Tuchel on the lookout for reinforcements to bolster his forward lineup before September 1’s deadline.
According to a report from The Times, Chelsea are confident of sealing a deal for landing Anthony Gordon’s signature this week despite rumours of Tottenham Hotspur reviving their interest in the player.
The 21-year-old is viewed as a key player to freshen the attacking ranks at Thomas’s disposal with the Chelsea boss sanctioning the sale of both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner earlier in the summer window in a sign of an overhaul of the squad.
Chelsea’s pursuit of the Everton talent Gordon has been stepped up of late after the Blues’ second and improved offer worth £45 million was turned down by the Merseyside Blues who want to retain their wantaway first-teamer for the 2022-23 season.
