Brighton are reportedly eyeing up a swoop to sign Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour permanently this summer with the midfielder failing to impress at the Bridge.
The midfield starlet spent the last season on loan at Norwich City and his displays at Carrow Road were not good enough for the Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel to make him an integral part of his Chelsea roster this season.
Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo is being tracked by Manchester United and the Seagulls are looking to line up a viable replacement for him should United step up their efforts to complete the transfer.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, the Scotland international Gilmour, with his fall down the pecking order in the Chelsea fold, is the subject of serious interest from Graham Potter’s Brighton.
Chelsea, meanwhile, remain on alert to Frenkie de Jong’s situation at Barcelona and are credited with a strong interest in moving in for the Dutchman which would certainly push Gilmour out the exit door.
