Atalanta have reportedly made contact with Chelsea wing-back Emerson Palmieri who is linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in this summer’s transfer window.
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea brought in Marc Cucurella last week in a £6 2million transfer from Brighton and the Spaniard’s arrival means that Emerson will be in line to leave the Chelsea fold sooner rather than later.
According to a report from the Evening Standard, Atalanta have opened talks with Emerson and his representatives over a move back to Italy for the defender with a loan deal expected to be the Serie A outfit’s preference.
The Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest would be hoping to make things difficult for the Atalanta camp as they too eye up Emerson’s services and bolster the ranks at the back in their promotional campaign.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are not expected to show any reluctance in parting ways with Emerson with Tuchel looking to trim his squad size and offload the deadwood before the transfer window slams shut.
