Chelsea are reportedly edging closer to landing Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe in a possible third signing of the summer at the Bridge.
Kimpembe is wanted by his former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel with the German keen to reinforce his Chelsea defensive ranks by bringing in another quality name after snapping up Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
Koulibaly joins the Blues on a four-year contract in Chelsea’s second signing of the Todd Boehly era at Chelsea just days after England international winger Raheem Sterling put pen to paper on a long-term contract in £47.5 million transfer.
According to a report from Ojago, it is claimed that the French central defender Kimpembe is in line to follow in the footsteps of Koulibaly by signing for Chelsea with PSG already mulling over dipping into the market for the former’s successor.
Tuchel wants to shore up his options in the backline following the twin exits of key first-team duo Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen who have signed for Real Madrid and FC Barcelona respectively this summer.
