Chelsea dropped out of the race to sign new Spurs forward Richarlison whose £60 million price-tag was deemed too high by the Stamford Bridge camp.
Richarlison makes a move to North London in a big-money transfer from Everton but the Brazil international attacker was one of the top names on the shopping list for the Blues gaffer Thomas Tuchel in the transfer window currently underway.
Tuchel was keen on moving in for Richarlison’s signature and line up a viable replacement for the outgoing Romelu Lukaku who re-signed for Inter Milan in a season-long loan deal earlier this week.
According to a report from The Daily Express, Chelsea are said to have made a late inquiry about the 25-year-old Richarlison on Wednesday night. Still, Thomas Tuchel’s side did not end up improving upon the bid lodged by local rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues are now tipped to swiftly shift their attention toward other viable alternatives in the market with Manchester City’s wantaway wide player Raheem Sterling a priority target for Tuchel and Chelsea.
