Chelsea want to bring in Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta

Chelsea want to bring in Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta this summer with current executive Marina Granovskaia set to head out the exit door at Stamford Bridge.

Granovskaia looks likely to follow in the footsteps of chairman Bruce Buck, who earlier this week announced that he would be stepping down from the role come June 30, after the change in ownership of the club.

According to a report from the Spanish news outlet AS, it is claimed that Atletico Madrid’s director Andrea Berta is a target for the Blues camp under the Todd Boehly-led owners who are keen to ring in changes to the club’s hierarchy.

The 50-year-old Berta has been an important figure in the Atletico fold since his move to the Spanish capital city back in 2013 from Genoa but is said that the Italian would want a change of scenery in the near future.

A move to England’s top flight, with Chelsea keeping close tabs on Berta’s situation at Atletico, could be well on the cards as Boehly looks to strengthen his new side on all fronts heading into the new campaign.
