Chelsea look to beat rivals Spurs to sign the highly-rated Torino defender Gleison Bremer who is a coveted name in this summer’s transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur have long been interested in making an approach for the Brazilian centre-back and with Antonio Conte hoping to bolster his ranks at the back, Bremer is rumoured to be a top name on the club’s wishlist.
According to a report from the Italian outlet Gianluca Di Marzio, it is claimed that Chelsea are in line to pip Spurs to Bremer’s signature with the Stamford Bridge giants tabling a sizable bid for the Torino first-team regular.
There is no shortage of interest from elsewhere in the player with Serie A bigwigs Inter Milan also believed to be keeping close tabs on him but are not ready to use midfielder Cesare Casadei in a cash-plus-player deal.
Chelsea are yet to make any new recruitment under their new owners led by the American businessman Todd Boehly who is ready to back Thomas Tuchel with the funds to overhaul his side.
