Barcelona have told Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta to hand in a transfer request or risk missing out on his dream move to Camp Nou.
Azpilicueta has his future at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer hanging in the balance with the veteran Spanish defender eyeing his way out the exit door with Barcelona keen on moving in for him.
Despite Thomas Tuchel’s attempts to retain his club captain heading into the new season at a point where the Chelsea boss has already lost both Rudiger and Christensen on free transfers, there is speculation that Azpilicueta will follow suit.
According to a report from The Sun, however, the Barca camp are increasingly frustrated over the lack of progress made in their approach for Azpilicueta with the Catalan outfit now handing an ultimatum to the defender to complete the deal quickly.
Barcelona are also keen on extending a bid for Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso who is rumoured to have had his head turned by the potential switch to Spain’s top flight to turn out for Xavi’s side.
