Midfield talent Billy Gilmour has put pen to paper on an extension with Chelsea until 2024 which prolongs his stay at Stamford Bridge by at least two more years.
A statement from the club’s official website has confirmed that Gilmour, who turned 21 on Saturday, would be signing a new deal with Thomas Tuchel’s Blues ahead of the start of the next season.
The Scotland international maestro’s future in west London beyond this summer has been the subject of much speculation with no shortage of suitors across England wanting to move in for the highly-promising Chelsea academy product.
In the recent past, it is Everton, under the charge of former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, who want to strike out a loan agreement for Gilmour in a double raid at the Bridge with Lampard also eyeing up attacking midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Gilmour spent the entirety of the 2021-22 season Norwich City, turning out 28 times for the Carrow Road outfit in all competitions, with Tuchel shipping out his young midfielder to gain valuable first-team football away from Chelsea.
