Sky Sports journalist Marc Behrenbeck has sounded out the confirmation that the 30-year-old Halstenberg will be in line to pen an extension with RB Leipzig for another two years, and in the process, rebuff interest in his services from Chelsea.
With both Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen, established figures for the Chelsea defensive lineup under Tuchel since the German took charge of the Blues, departing this summer, the club had been on the lookout for new signings.
Sevilla’s Jules Kounde remains the top priority for this summer window, according to the rumour mill, with the France international centre-back key to Tuchel’s plans for overhauling his ranks.
