Chelsea could gain in their pursuit for the Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly mulling over pulling the plug on talks to bring in the player this summer.
The Ligue 1 champions are set to drop out of the running for the France international whose future has attracted much speculation in recent weeks despite Barcelona’s attempts to tie him down to extended terms.
According to a report from The Daily Mail ( via The Sun), it is claimed that PSG’s withdrawal from the race to land Dembele could mean that Chelsea are now the frontrunners for the former Dortmund wide player.
The Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be thrilled by the prospect of a reunion with Dembele with both having worked together before at Dortmund before the Frenchman made the move to Camp Nou in a big-money transfer.
He is considered a top name on the shopping list for Tuchel who is keen to overhaul his attacking roster in the summer with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech likely to be given the nod to make the move elsewhere.
