Chelsea maintain a strong interest in signing Bayern Munich rebel Robert Lewandowski despite Barcelona leading the race for the Polish striker.
Lewandowski is pushing for a move away from the Bayern camp this summer but remains far from making a final decision over his future as Barca eye up a move for his services.
According to a report from The Guardian, it is claimed that Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea outfit are keeping close tabs on Lewandowski’s situation with the Blues boss eager to add much-needed firepower to his attacking ranks.
The likes of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, both big-money acquisitions for the Stamford Bridge giants in recent years, have failed to provide the clinical touch in front of the goal for Tuchel who is all set to dip into the market one more time.
Barcelona leading the race to land the Bayern forward could complicate matters at Chelsea but should the Spanish giants be unable to finalise terms for the deal to go through, Tuchel would be waiting in the wings for one of his longstanding targets.
