Chelsea were handed another heartbreaking defeat in a penalty shootout to Liverpool with Thomas Tuchel’s men finishing as the runner ups in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Liverpool threatened Edouard Mendy’s goal early on in the game with Anfield new boy Luis Diaz the man to create trouble time and again for Chelsea.
For the Blues, it was Pulisic who got the first effort on target after James sent a sublime ball into the box for the lurking players to meet and slot home.
The American international winger went close a second time with Mason Mount teeing up the former only for his effort to go narrowly wide of the same post.
Chelsea were the dominant of the two teams in the opening exchanges of the second period with Marcos Alonso hitting the woodwork with his free-kick.
Pulisic forced a good save out of the Liverpool No.1 Alisson with the final stages of the game saw Liverpool up the pressure in the attacking third but Mendy and Co. standing their ground to force the game into extra time.
Mason Mount was the sole player to go close to scoring in the additional 30 minutes with the England international curling an effort over the bar from outside the box.
The penalty shootout that followed the 120 minutes of play had Azpilicueta hitting his strike against the post but Chelsea were granted a lifeline as Sadio Mane was denied by Mendy.
With Mount drawing a save from Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s wing-back Kostas Tsimikas won the game for his side after netting the decisive penalty.
