Thomas Tuchel is understood to be the top name on Real Madrid’s shortlist for their new manager to replace Carlo Ancelotti in the event he is given the sack.
Despite Real Madrid’s stellar displays in the domestic campaign which sees them sit at the top of the standings with a nine-point cushion, Ancelotti’s men have struggled of late in the Champions League and were knocked out of the Copa Del Rey.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Sport, it is claimed that the Los Blancos have Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel on top of the shortlist of potential replacements to take over the managerial reigns should Ancelotti leave.
Chelsea’s ownership troubles of late has led to speculation being rife over Tuchel’s future at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season with German clubs and Real eyeing up the former Dortmund manager’s services.
PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino, Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, club icon Raul and Real Sociedad B coach Xabi Alonso are the other names on the shortlist at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
