Chelsea’s German striker Timo Werner is reportedly mulling over a decision to call it quits at Stamford Bridge ahead of the summer transfer window.
Werner has been unable to replicate his RB Leipzig form since making the move to west London in 2019 and has been forced to settle for limited first-team opportunities in recent times.
A report from Goal has claimed that Werner’s camp are set to meet with the Chelsea hierarchy sooner rather than later to better understand the boss Thomas Tuchel’s plans for their client.
Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund are tipped to be on the suitors for Werner’s signature in the transfer market with a return to his homeland reckoned to be on the cards for the Chelsea outcast who was back to his best in the recent win over Luton.
He scored his first goal in eight outings to level the affair for the Blues in the fourth round FA Cup matchup following which he teed up his strike partner Romelu Lukaku for the winner to help Chelsea through to the next stage.
