Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their efforts to land Real Madrid central defender Eder Militao to shore up the defensive roster at Thomas Tuchel’s disposal.
The Blues gaffer finds himself on the hunt for reinforcements from the transfer market to shore up his ranks at the back with the futures of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta hanging in the balance.
Brazil international Eder Militao, who has been a solid performer for Real Madrid so far this season, has made the Chelsea shortlist ahead of the summer with Tuchel hoping to make an approach for his services.
Reports from the Spanish news publication Marca claim that the Stamford Bridge camp are in line to hold a meeting with Militao’s representatives and convince the player of making the move to the English capital.
The former Porto man, however, is understood to be keen on staying put at the Bernabeu with the FIFA World Cup on the horizon come the forthcoming winter and Militao would look to stake his claim for a spot on the Brazil teamsheet.
