Chelsea eyeing a summer move for Brighton man Adam Webster

Chelsea are understood to be eyeing up a summer move for Brighton central defender Adam Webster to bolster the ranks at the back for Thomas Tuchel.

The boss is expected to dip into the transfer market come the forthcoming summer for reinforcements to add to his defensive roster with Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta close to the exit door at the Bridge.

Antonio Rudiger’s future in the English capital, meanwhile, continues to be subject to much speculation despite talk of Chelsea gaining ground in their attempts to tie him down to a new long-term deal.

A surprise name on the shopping list for Chelsea, according to reports from The Daily Mirror, is the in-form Brighton centre-back Adam Webster who has been an influential figure for Graham Potter’s high-flying Seagulls so far this season.

Webster has been on top form for Brighton and is tipped to be in line for earning a callup to the England squad under Gareth Southgate’s charge with an exit from the Amex rumoured to be on the cards in the near future.
