Chelsea will be forced to look elsewhere for alternatives with AS Roma set to turn down interest in star striker Tammy Abraham come the summer.
Abraham had called it quits in the English capital last summer to make the move to Serie A outfit AS Roma and has been in terrific goalscoring form so far this season for his new side.
There has been speculation doing the rounds that Thomas Tuchel could find himself in the transfer market in the summer to add fresh blood to his attacking ranks following Stamford Bridge returnee Romelu Lukaku failing to hit the ground running.
Tuchel, however, is in for a setback on that front with any hopes of re-signing Abraham from AS Roma dashed with the Italians confident of retaining their summer recruit, according to claims from football.london.
The likes of Erling Haaland and Federico Chiesa remain names on the shortlist for Chelsea with Haaland’s complicated future in the Dortmund shirt beyond the end of the season likely to make him keen on a move to England’s top flight.
