Bayern Munich hoping to land Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen on a free transfer with the Bavarians set to lose Niklas Sule in the summer.
The Denmark international’s future in the English capital beyond the end of the season hangs in the balance with Chelsea failing in their repeated attempts to tie Christensen down to renewed terms.
Bayern Munich, meanwhile, are facing a crisis of their own on the contract front as they struggle to retain the services of defensive mainstay Nikal Sule who has set his heart on a move elsewhere despite Bayern’s offer to hike his wages to €10 million.
According to reports from Goal, it is claimed that the Bundesliga heavyweights will look to use the transfer market for finding Sule’s replacement and have zeroed in on Christensen despite heavy competition amongst some of Europe’s top clubs for the centre-back.
The likes of FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are rumoured to be keeping close tabs on the Dane with Barcelona credited with a strong interest to bolster their ailing backline by making Christensen the priority target on coach Xavi’s wishlist.
