Chelsea secured a thumping win over Chesterfield in the FA Cup on Saturday with Thomas Tuchel’s men posting a 5-1 scoreline to advance to the next round.

A much-changed XI for the home side did not deter them from getting the game underway on the front foot with a breakthrough in the sixth minute.
Timo Werner was there to slot the ball into the back of the net after the Chesterfield goalie Scott Loach had denied Hakim Ziyech only for the ball to come Werner’s path.
Loach made a good save to keep out another of Ziyech’s efforts but Callum Hudson-Odoi was clinical in his finishing to double Chelsea’s advantage.
Romelu Lukaku soon made it three for the Blues with the Belgian netting a low cross from the debutant Lewis Hall who put in a tremendous shift on the left side of the pitch.
Before the half time interval, Chelsea had another goal on the scoresheet to show for their dominance with Andreas Christensen heading the ball into the back of the net.
Chelsea started the second half as they had left and were awarded a spot kick early on in the period when Christian Pulisic was fouled in the box. Up stepped Hakim Ziyech to make it 5-0.
Chesterfield left it late to secure a consolation goal with substitute Asante there to strike home after Bettinelli had made a fantastic stop to deny Tshimanga.
Tuchel’s men kept their composure in the dying embers to get past the finish line and book their spot in the fourth round.
