Sergino Dest’s agent has added to the ongoing transfer speculation surrounding his client amid Chelsea credited with an interest in signing the Barcelona full-back.
A potential season-ending ACL injury for Ben Chilwell has sparked off rumours that Thomas Tuchel will dip into the market come January for an emergency signing to add to his options at the back.
USMNT defender Dest has emerged as a name on Stamford Bridge’s radar with the 21-year-old struggling to make an impact under the new Barca coach Xavi Hernandez who could look to ship him out when the transfer window reopens.
Chelsea’s interest in the American player is in line to be rivalled by Bayern Munich with the Bundesliga outfit keeping close tabs on Dest’s situation at Camp Nou and now the agent Thies Bliemeister has fueled the rumours.
Speaking to the German daily TZ ( via football.london), Bliemeister claims that there will no shortage of suitors for Dest’s signature should Barcelona decide on offloading him in the winter transfer window now open.
“He has had a lot of enquiries, even in the summer he had a lot of offers.
“But his coach at the time, Ronald Koeman, really wanted to keep him.
“How things will go on now we will have to see.
“One thing is clear, a player like Sergino Dest is definitely not lacking in alternatives.”
