Burnley are amongst the favourites to land the signature of Chelsea outcast Ross Barkley who is linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge camp.
The England international’s fall down the pecking order in the English capital coupled with a severe drop in his showings as of late has sparked off speculation that Thomas Tuchel will be open to offloading Barkley in the forthcoming transfer windows.
According to reports from the Yorkshire Evening Post, it is claimed that the Clarets are one of the frontrunners in the race to sign Barkley from the Chelsea fold where his future hangs in the balance.
Tuchel will scout the market sooner rather than later for a new midfield recruit despite bringing in Saul Niguez on deadline day this summer only for the Spaniard to fail to hit the ground running and cement his berth on the team sheet.
Saul’s return to parent club Atletico Madrid is rumoured to be imminent with West Ham United maestro Declan Rice a top name on the shopping list for Tuchel, suggests the rumour mill.
