Chelsea have reportedly joined Newcastle United in the race to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the January transfer window.
The France international maestro is heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A giants and interest has been high from England’s top flight in landing his signature come the winter transfer window.
Reports from the Italian news outlet Calciomercato suggest that the Blues camp are keen on opening talks to bring in Rabiot in January but will face competition from Newcastle United who are also in the market for a new midfield signing.
Rabiot’s stay at Juventus is due to expire in the summer of 2023 and despite his extended run of first-team involvement with the Turin outfit, he is understood to be a top name on the wishlist for other clubs including Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel is close to parting ways with his summer recruit Saul Niguez who made the move to the Bridge on deadline day but has failed to hit the ground running and cement a berth on the team sheet for the west Londoners.
