Chelsea star Mason Mount’s England call-up has reportedly been delayed following a dental surgery for the playmaking talent, confirm reports from the club’s official website.
Mount had featured sporadically for Thomas Tuchel’s side in the weekend stalemate against Burnley in league football after being sidelined for the last two games prior to that with an illness.
The 22-year-old had been in flying form in front of the goal before his brief spell on the sidelines and bagged a memorable hat-trick, his first, in the 7-0 rout of the Premier League’s new boys Norwich City.
It is understood that the player will be arriving late for the preparations underway by the England camp ahead of the forthcoming fixture list which awaits Gareth Southgate’s men.
Mount’s delayed participation with the national team will be joined in by the likes of Marcus Rashford, James Ward-Prowse and Luke Shaw who are yet to report for international duty.
‘Mount’s arrival has been delayed due to recent dental surgery and he will continue to be monitored in the coming days, as will Shaw who is currently following concussion protocol at his club.’
