Chelsea handed major boost with Romelu Lukaku pictured in training

Chelsea were handed a major boost on the injury front ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Brentford with Romelu Lukaku pictured in training on Thursday.

There had been some concerns over the Belgian striker’s fitness levels in the build-up to the weekend showdown in West London with Lukaku returning early from international duty during the recent break.

The 28-year-old, however, was snapped along with his teammates in team training at Chelsea’s Cobham training facility, according to reports from the club’s official website, which will come as a respite to Thomas Tuchel’s worries over his squad selection.

Tuchel could have to do without his in-form central defender Antonio Rudiger for Saturday’s clash with the German sidelined for the later stages of the international break with the national team fold amid the speculation of his Stamford Bridge future beyond the next summer.

Chelsea did have Reece James and N’Golo Kante returning to training earlier this week with both players, who had been injury absentees prior to the break, set to make themselves available for selection for the visit to Brentford.
