Full-back Reece James returned to Chelsea training ahead of Brentford clash in a major boost to Thomas Tuchel’s side on the injury front.
James had been sidelined from on-field action with an ankle injury he sustained in Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League earlier this month and had to sit out the subsequent games in league football for the Blues.
The defender had to withdraw from the England squad for the international fixtures with his spot in Gareth Southgate’s camp being filled by his club teammate Ben Chilwell.

Reports from the club’s official website confirm that the 22-year-old James is back in full team training for Chelsea at the Cobham facility in the build-up to Saturday’s game against the Premier League’s high-flying new boys Brentford away from home.
Chelsea had earlier gained ground on the squad selection front with midfield man N’Golo Kante also reporting back to training after a spell on the sidelines for the France international with a positive COVID-19 test.
