Chelsea could fail to offload Kurt Zouma before Tuesday’s deadline day with the player’s highly expected move to West Ham United now hanging in the balance.
Reports from The Mirror claim that Zouma’s knee problem surfaced in the defender’s medical examinations ahead of his transfer and West Ham are understood to have serious concerns over that issue.
Discussions are underway at the London Stadium over making progress in the deal to sign the 26-year-old France international from Chelsea with Zouma waiting for the nod to go ahead with his move away from Thomas Tuchel’s camp.
A £25 million worth transfer had been in the works with Zouma set to end his stint at Stamford Bridge to join David Moyes at West Ham with the Hammers boss keen on bolstering his options at the back by bringing in the Chelsea man.
Zouma’s move to West Ham United before next week’s deadline could also impact Chelsea’s plans of pushing for a move to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla with the La Liga outfit unlikely to entertain any eleventh-hour bids.
