The defending Champions of Europe were put in Group H and were further joined by the likes of Serie A heavyweights Juventus, Russian champions Zenit Saint Petersburg and Swedish outfit Malmo which looks like an easy draw on paper for Thomas Tuchel’s men.
Tuchel and Co. were crowned the winners of Europe’s elite club competition last time around on the back of a run of solid showings throughout the campaign which culminated in a final win over Manchester City.
Chelsea have been major players in the transfer window so far this summer with one of the new signing Romelu Lukaku bolstering Tuchel’s attacking options after last season’s mixed fortunes in front of the goal quite evident at Stamford Bridge.
La Liga star duo Saul Niguez and Jules Kounde are backed to become the latest recruits for the Blues before Tuesday’s deadline day with both players suggested being close to sealing moves to Thomas Tuchel’s camp.
