Chelsea could gain on their recent efforts to slim down their squad size with first-team outcast Kenedy in line to head out the exit door and sign for long-term suitors Flamengo.
The Brazilian outfit are nearing an agreement with Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea camp to land the player on loan with an option to buy at €10 million next summer, according to reports from Goal.
With the Blues confirming the arrival of Romelu Lukaku in a big-money deal last week, the squad size which presently stands at 42 will have to be trimmed before Chelsea register their squad for the 2021-22 campaign which is now underway.
Kenedy has been a major target for Flamengo in this summer’s transfer window and the Brazilian side have made repeated attempts to bring in the wide man who is not backed to have a future at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer.
Chelsea have added to their frontline options by signing Lukaku from Inter Milan and the first player deemed surplus to requirements following the Belgian’s arrival is believed to be Kenedy.
