Chelsea are understood to be keeping close tabs on teenage sensation Pape Matar Sarr who has attracted significant attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs this summer.
Reports from The Daily Mail claim that the Metz starlet has Chelsea amongst his admirers in the transfer market on the back of his breakthrough as one of the promising youngsters in Ligue 1 football.
With Sarr netting four goals in 27 outings for Metz last season, the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City have been credited with an interest in signing the player meaning that Chelsea have competition on their hands.
Thomas Tuchel has bolstered his frontline options heading into the start of the new campaign by bringing in Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan in a big-money deal after drawn-out negotiations over the past couple of weeks.
Lukaku’s arrival does provide Tuchel with a fantastic central striking option for Chelsea with both Timo Werner and Kai Havertz failing to live up to expectations that had surrounded their respective moves to Stamford Bridge last summer.
