Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the 23-year-old Abraham will be taking the flight to Rome on Sunday for his medical examination and sign the deal with his new club who are in line to splash a fee worth €40 million on landing his signature.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will have to pay double their current asking price for Abraham should they wish to re-sign the striker with Thomas Tuchel’s camp including an €80 million buy-back clause in Abraham’s sale to AS Roma.
The buy-back clause will be valid from the summer of 2023, according to Romano, with Chelsea planning to ship out Abraham swiftly following the recent big-money arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Stamford Bridge.
