AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has touched base with his side’s top target Tammy Abraham to convince him to seal the move to the Italian outfit this summer.
Fabrizio Romano claims that the Serie A bigwigs remain the frontrunners in the race to sign the 23-year-old Chelsea man who has been backed to head out the exit door at Stamford Bridge before this month’s deadline.

Mourinho is believed to have contacted Abraham with Roma pushing for the deal to be completed in a swift manner as they seek the Chelsea striker’s signature to bolster their frontline options ahead of the next season’s start.
Roma have shipped out star frontman Edin Dzeko to domestic rivals Inter Milan who have signed the Bosnian as their replacement for the Chelsea bound Romelu Lukaku whose return to the Premier League was confirmed by the west Londoners recently.
Arsenal are still suggested to be in the reckoning for Abraham’s signature but it is Roma who are in pole position to land the player with their €40 million plus add ons offer accepted by Thomas Tuchel’s camp.
