AS Roma join the widely-contested race for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham’s future continues to be a hot topic of discussion with the England international now wanted by Serie A heavyweights AS Roma this summer.

Reports from Sky Sports’ Gianluca Di Marzio claim that Jose Mourinho’s Roma outfit have joined in on the race to sign the 23-year-old Abraham from Chelsea where the player has been heavily backed to call it quits in what remains of the ongoing transfer window.

The imminent arrival of Romelu Lukaku at Stamford Bridge in a big-money move is sure to push Abraham further down the pecking order in the Chelsea ranks and will make the striker seek an exit before the window slams shut.

AS Roma are believed to be looking at attacking options in the transfer market with talk of Inter Milan eyeing up Roma’s frontman Edin Dzeko as their replacement for the outgoing Lukaku gaining ground.

Mourinho will be facing a challenge from his fellow Serie A club Atalanta who are speculated to be in advanced talks with Chelsea over landing Abraham this summer in a move worth £40 million and will be holding a meeting very shortly in London.
