Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma is being eyed up by fellow London-based Premier League outfit West Ham United who are in line to lodge a £20 million worth bid for the player, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Speculation had been rife that the Blues were keen on including Zouma as a makeweight in their offer for long-term target Jules Kounde with the Sevilla man eager to seal a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
With the La Liga side expected to play hardball over the pricing concerns for Kounde’s deal, Chelsea were understood to be interested in sending Zouma in the opposite direction to convince Sevilla of the transfer agreement.
However, it is believed that Zouma remains keen on staying put in London and this has lured West Ham United into making a last-ditch attempt to land the signature of the France international ahead of the next season.
The Hammers have been linked with Chelsea players in the past with the Stamford Bridge outcast Tammy Abraham a key target for David Moyes who backed out of a deal only due to the asking price put forward by Thomas Tuchel’s camp.
