Sevilla defender Jules Kounde has Chelsea and Manchester United chasing his signature in this summer’s transfer window with the young Frenchman establishing his credentials as one of the top talents in the La Liga this past season.
Chelsea are backed to improve upon their defensive options heading into the start of the new season with Thomas Tuchel already having lost out Fikayo Tomori after AC Milan expressed their willingness to take on the centre-back on a permanent basis.
Speculation is rife over the futures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen at Stamford Bridge with the duo’s contracts running out at the end of the 2021-22 campaign and talk of Chelsea reaching out to Sevilla for the in-demand Kounde has gained ground as of late.
Reports from Todo Fichajes claim that the west London giants have zeroed in on the young central defender as a top target who will significantly shore up Tuchel’s options at the back for Chelsea who are tipped to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title next season.
Manchester United’s interest in signing Kounde remains upbeat despite the Old Trafford outfit moving close to landing their long-term target Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
