Premier League new boys Norwich City have signed Chelsea’s midfield talent Billy Gilmour on a loan that will run until next summer, confirm reports from the club’s official website.
Gilmour enjoyed a fairly positive campaign with the Scotland side at the UEFA European Championships and his performance in the nil-nil affair against England earned him major plaudits from his boss Steve Clarke.
Despite Tuchel rating the youngster very highly, the likes of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic were expected to supersede Gilmour in the midfield pecking order heading into the 2021-22 campaign.

Norwich City had been considered the frontrunners as of late to sign the 20-year-old Scotland international who will be earning regular minutes on the football pitch for the Canaries in the Premier League next season.
Gilmour had missed a major chunk of the last season owing to a long-term injury but had returned before the conclusion to see his side be crowned the Champions of Europe with a win over Manchester City in the Porto showdown.
