Ramos says his goodbyes in Madrid as Chelsea eye free transfer

With the 35-year-old central defender in line to hold a press conference and say his goodbyes to the Real Madrid faithful, clubs across the continent, one of which is Chelsea, will attempt to sign him on a free transfer.

Ramos had refused to agree upon extended terms with Real Madrid as he hoped to seek a new playing destination after having spent the entirety of his club career in Spain so far.

Chelsea could be in the market for a new centre-back following Tomori’s exit

The Blues are set to lose out on the 22-year-old Fikayo Tomori to AC Milan with the Italians triggering the buy-out clause in the England international’s initial loan deal to sign him on a permanent basis.

Thomas Tuchel will be hopeful of bolstering his defensive options ahead of the next season in the wake of Tomori’s departure by bringing in a player of Ramos’ ability and experience.
