Chelsea face battle from Tottenham Hotspur for the in-form Roma man Leonardo Spinazzola

Leonardo Spinazzola’s superb start to the UEFA European Championships with an in-form Italy side has made the AS Roma wing-back a target for London clubs Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Both capital city outfits are believed to be keeping tabs on the 28-year-old with the onset of the summer transfer window where either club is looking to upgrade upon their existing full-back names.

With Chelsea set to offload Emerson Palmieri and the second fiddle Marcos Alonso also expected to head out the exit door at Stamford Bridge, the Blues gaffer Thomas Tuchel will be on the hunt for another left-sided defended to provide cover for Ben Chilwell.

Reports from The Express claim that Spinazzola’s fantastic spell of recent form will make Chelsea take an even greater interest in how the Italian international fares over the remainder of the month-long tournament.

Tottenham Hotspur, having appointed the former Roma manager Paolo Fonseca as their new boss, are also in the running to make a move for Fonseca’s old player who played under him for two years in Italy.
