Manchester City vs Chelsea – Chelsea Predicted Lineups | UCL 2020-21

Thomas Tuchel will hope for his Chelsea side to bounce back from their recent rut and overcome fellow Premier League giants Manchester City to clinch the much-coveted Champions League trophy on Saturday night in Porto.

The Blues were handed a 2-1 defeat by Aston Villa on the final day of the 2020-21 Premier League season but Tuchel’s men still sealed a top-four finish with Leicester City suffering a heavy loss to Spurs.

Let us now have a look at how Thomas Tuchel might set up his Chelsea side against Manchester City –

3-4-2-1

Edouard Mendy will be in the Chelsea goal after staging a return to team training ahead of the final clash over the weekend.

The backline is likely to see Antonio Rudiger partner with Andres Christensen and Cesar Azpilicuetta but Tuchel could be lured into giving Thiago Silva a start considering his big-game experience.

N’Golo Kante is the major injury concern for the west London giants with the France international having missed the defeat to Villa, however, Tuchel has sounded out assurances that his midfield star will be fit in time for the Champions League matchup.

Much speculation persists over the Chelsea frontline options with Timo Werner’s dismal run of form calling for his exclusion from the starting lineup but it is expected that the German forward will continue to lead the line for Chelsea.
