Thomas Tuchel fields an unchanged starting eleven for the Blues as they take on Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals in the capital city of Spain.
Chelsea had most recently stepped out on the London Stadium pitch in a game that went their way as they secured a pivotal 1-0 win over West Ham United in the derby clash.
Tuchel retains faith in Timo Werner ahead of other options
Werner broke his recent goalscoring duck as he netted the sole goal during the win over the Hammers last weekend and the Germany international is rewarded for his contribution with another starting opportunity.
Thomas Tuchel decides to go ahead with his same attacking options which were on show last time around with Kai Havertz and Olivier Giroud kept on the bench.
Cesar Azpilicuetta continues in the wing-back role
Somewhat surprising is that the Chelsea skipper Azpilicuetta is fielded once again in the wing-back role for the visitors which was witnessed in the recent game against West Ham as well.
The 31-year-old Spaniard pips the likes of Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi on the right side of the pitch despite the latter two possessing more pace on the flanks as compared to the veteran defender who has mostly been drafted in the centre-back role under Tuchel.
Here is how both sides lineup for the upcoming Champions League fixture:
